A bit about the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Auxiliary:
In 1954 a group of nurses living in Uxbridge formed an auxiliary with the goal of building a community hospital. Five years later, with financial support from many other community groups, the auxiliary’s objective was fulfilled when The Cottage Hospital was officially opened on January 12, 1959. During this period the Auxiliary has donated over $1,800,000.00 to the Hospital and Foundation.
Since that time the auxiliary has maintained an active membership and presently has over 300 dedicated volunteers whose talents and efforts are focused in two directions: PATIENT SERVICES AND FUNDRAISING. |
